With winter on the Gold Coast drawing to an end, now is the perfect time to think about packing up some of those seasonal items that clutter our homes. A small self storage unit is a great place to put all of your goods whether you live in Robina, Burleigh or anywhere else on the Gold Coast. Who needs to be tripping over snow skis and winter jackets when all you need is sun cream and boogie boards? Below are some ideas for what to store, when to store it, and how to free up your living space.
Spring/Summer
It’s time to say goodbye to those big items like snow skis, winter jackets, boots, blankets and portable heaters. Clean them thoroughly and then organise them for transport to storage. Clothes can be arranged in boxes or bags and should be clearly labelled (just in case you decide to take a winter holiday overseas!) Vacuum packing clothing and blankets is also an excellent way to maximise space and protect your valuable items.
Don’t forget about the garage too. Check to see if you have items that you only use around the house in winter. You will be amazed how clearing some space in the garage gives you a feeling of organisation… who knows you may even be able to fit your car in there now!
Autumn/Winter
Once the weather starts getting cooler it’s time to pack away the beach umbrellas and surf boards and put them in to your self storage unit. Kids can amass all sorts of beach toys that take up room and add to the clutter, so put these all in a box and label them. Summer clothing is also better off washed, folded and stored with clearly marked labels. Don’t forget to leave anything that you could possibly need close to the door of the storage unit. And if you are really organised a rough map of where things are can be invaluable when it comes time to pick up or swap goods over.
A storage unit used for seaonal storage is a clever idea to keep your homes clutter free whilst allowing you to get out and enjoy our wonderful Gold Coast weather! Make sure you give us a call at U Can Store It for more storage solutions for Robina, Burleigh and the entire Gold Coast.
